The national sub-committee
on the Elderly people, under CHC, is the speaker in a seminar conducted
on 1 September 2007 at St. Angela Church, Sonta, on activities of
the elderly of the Church in order to open the avenue for the establishment
of the Elderly Group in the diocese of Ratchaburi. About 20 elderly
people from 5 different parishes in the Ratchaburi diocese attended
this seminar. On this occasion the medial committee doctors and nurses
of Ratchaburi came to provide free medical check-up for all the participants. |

Core Elderly
Leaders from various parishes in Ratchaburi are those of St. Angela,
Sonta; St. Luke, Nong Nang Phraew; O. Lady of the Perpetual Succour,
Thung Khaoluang; St. Agnes, Chat Pawai and Church of the Merciful
Jesus, Sai Ngarm. The elderly of each parish are all led by their
parish priests who have been regularly supporting them. |

The objective of this
seminar is to provide knowledge on how to establish the elderly group
with Rev. Phairat Sriprasert and Mr. Chet Chaonakaew as speakers on
activities of the elderly of the Church, importance of the elderly,
way to establish the group, benefits of the elderly grouping, activities
at the group level, types of membership and benefits of being a member. |

after the seminar it is found that they are already preparing to organize
the group. If nay parish wishes to establish such a group and need
