The
14th Asia-Pacific Congress |
The Pro-Life, a section
under CHC, invited knowledgeable people from various backgrounds to
prepare for the '14th Asia-Pacific Congress on Love, Life and Family'
on 9 August 2007 at the CBCT meeting room chaired by Most Rev. Philip
Banjong Chaiyara, President of the Episcopal Department for Social
Works with 25 participants attending the meeting. |
|
Pro-Life Thailand, as
a member of Pro-Life Asia, was requested by Human Life International-Asia
to host the 14th Asia-Pacific Congress to be held on 12-14 November
2007 at the Pastoral Training Center, Sampran. The Working Committee
has conducted several meetings for the preparation of the theme until
finally "INTERFAITH DIALOGUE AND SOLIDARITY ON THE VALUE AND
MEANING OF LIFE" has been chosen. |
|
The objective of this
Congress is: 1. to let the participants gain correct insight on the
value and dignity of a human person in accordance with the religious
teaching, 2. to create networks for the promotion of life in the Church
in Thailand with the agenda and meeting format concentrating on the
inter-religious dialogue concerning the value of life through various
religious speakers and Pro-Life representatives from different countries
who will report on the situation and activities on life protection
in their respective countries. |
|
This Congress will be
honored with the presence of Archbishop Salvatore Pennachio, Apostolic
Nuncio, and H.E. Cardinal Michael Michai Kitbunchu for the inauguration
ceremony. |
|
Since this Congress
is convened at the Asia-Pacific level hosted by the Catholic Church
in Thailand with participants from many countries, a good preparation
must be organized on every aspect both with the reception and during
the 3-day meeting, so that the objective will be fully achieved. The
working committee is working very hard on this issue. |
|
Pro-Life Thailand was
officially established on 14 April 2005 with Rev. Banjong Santisukniran
as president and Rev. Siranon Sanpet as vice president. |
