Preparation
to make 2006 Annual Meeting :
Committee on AIDS
|
The
Catholic Committee on AIDS organized their meeting in July
to make a follow-up on AIDS activities in order to prepare
the annual meeting for the year 2549.
|
|
With regards to
the "Potential Development of the Orphans affected by HIV"
project the sub-committee in their coordination with foreign
donors they are successful in obtaining some financial support
from Caritas Korea to support activities helping the orphans
and children affected by HIV. |
|
The meeting also
discussed the ways of making a campaign to seek funds to help
HIV contracted persons and the AIDS patients. It is of a unanimous
opinion that in all the humanitarian activities there must be
an information desk, especially with the present situation.
This is a means of seeking funds both internally and externally
to enable each organization to be self-sufficient. However,
from experiences it is found that many people believe that the
Catholic organizations have a lot of money causing their hesitation
to provide financial assistance. Nonetheless, there is a concern
from the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Thailand about the
campaign in the issue of fund raising, so, care should be taken
on the regulations and the campaign should be carried out in
legitimate steps. |
|
As of past March
this committee organized a field trip of 'life exposure' to
a group of female religious superiors from main land China who
came to study the works on health and AIDS carried out by the
female religious in Thailand. This exposure to AIDS activities
will be adapted and adopted by these Chinese religious in preparing
their congregation members to work on AIDS within their respective
communities. |
