Preparation
for the Announcement of "Grateful Children" and "Model
Catholic Elderly" at the Songkhon Shrine |
The Catholic
sub-committee for the elderly together with the Archdiocesan of Tharae-Nongsaeng
are readily prepared to make the official announcement of the 'grateful
children' and 'model Catholic elderly' on the 2nd national assembly
of the elderly which will take place on 28 April 2007 at the Shrine
of O. Lady of the Martyrs, Songkhon, to be presided over by Archbishop
Chamniern Santisukniran.
|
The selection
ended up with 24 elderly be awarded with an honor of the Model Catholics.
Names of the candidates will be officially announced at the national
assembly in Songkhon.
|
As a result
of the CHD board No. 2/2007 meeting certificates of honor for the
model Catholic elderly at the parish level have already been printed
and forwarded to the respective parishes for further distributions.
|
This year's
assembly of the elderly will be highlighted by participation of members
of the 'Dare the Life' project. They are model people who have been
trying to struggle against multiple hardships in the lives until they
are now self-dependent. These people will come to extend their congratulations
to the model elderly and the grateful children, besides providing
assistance and convenience to the elderly who attend the assembly. |
The meeting
came up with a motion to develop informative data of the elderly living
in the various dioceses. Then a project, called "Pastoral Care
for the Elderly" will be developed, so that diocesan coordinators
will use as guidelines to coordinate and seek support from both the
local government agencies and the local Church. The project is being
drafted by Rev. Rattanasak Kitsakul. |
