| Intensive
Training on Pastoral Care of the Sick |
| The
Camillian Social Center Rayong together with the Catholic Subcommittee
for the Elderly organized an intensive training on the "Approach
and Understanding in order to Provide Service with Efficiency"
to the people who are involved with health matters on 22-24
May 2006 at the Camillian Social Center, Rayong under the leadership
of Rev. Siranon Sanpetch, director of the center. There were
23 participants in this workshop. |
The
objective of this training is to enable the personnel involved
with HIV patients take care of the sick with efficiency. The
training process consists of :
1. theoretical knowledge on care of the patients
2. Case analysis through group's brainstorming
3. Practical training through visiting terminal cases. |
| Evaluation
after the practical training found that participants have gained
several aspects of knowledge such as direct experience in the
care of patients, Catholic way of caring for the sick, better
familiarization with the meaning of sickness and feelings of
the sick, learn the process of problem analysis through groups
and being aware of living a life of a giver. |
| Recommendations:
Participants want to have psychologists to share their experiences,
the exchange of working places, and some recreational activities
at some interval in order to lighten their moods. |
