Care for the Elderly |
in Ratchaburi Diocese |
Rev.
Pramote Nilpetch who is responsible for the elderly pastoral
work of the Ratchaburi diocese in cooperation with the St.
Joseph parish sub-committee for the elderly and Rev. Phairat
Sriprasert, spiritual director of the Catholic Sub-committee
for the Elderly, organized 2 seminars to provide knowledge
and spiritual revival to the core leaders coming from the
various parishes in the diocese of Ratchaburi with H.E.
Bishop Panya opening and closing each seminar.
|
The
seminar was organized at the meeting hall of St. Camillus
hospital, Banpong with speakers providing knowledge on various
topics, such as: "Value and the way of existence of the
elderly", "The physical and mental transition of
the elderly", "Illness often found with the elderly
and the care", "Appropriate and correct physical
exercise" and "Guidelines in organizing the elderly
group within a parish". |
The
first seminar was conducted on 18 February 2549 with 114 elderly
representatives from the northern area of the Ratchaburi diocese.
The second one was on 25 February 2549 with 77 representatives
from the southern area. |
Both
seminars attracted very keen interest from the participants.
The central subcommittee for the elderly of the Ratchaburi
diocese will coordinate with all the participating participants
to establish the elderly group in each parish. |
Rev. Pramote gave his thanks to the participants and all the
sub-committee members concerned for their initiative and coordinating
work for the success of activities for the elderly. In any
event, we have to make a follow-up and make improvement in
order to strengthen the elderly work in the diocese according
to the year 2000 pastoral plan of the Catholic Bishops' Conference
of Thailand. |
