the Chanthaburi Diocese |
1. Rev. Yod Senarak of the Immaculate
Conception Cathedral made announcement of the new Elderly
Committee on 22 January 2549 with Rev. Samphan Vapeeso as
its spiritual director and Mr. Suthep Chaiyabhuak as head
of the group with 13 working committee members and 8 advisors.

2. The
Subcommittee for the Elderly in cooperation with the Pastoral
Council of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral of Chanthaburi
organized the 'International Day' for the sick on 11 February
2549 at 19.00 p.m. in front of the grotto of the Blessed Virgin
Mary presided over by Rev. Viroj Nandhajinda. There was also
the anointment ceremony for the sick. There were 261 elderly
participants in this gathering. |

3. The Chanthaburi
diocese has 2 pioneering parishes participating in the 'grateful
children' project: |

Cathedral selected 16 grateful children. |

The Sacred Hear Parish,
Khlung, selected 10 grateful children. |

Teacher Teresa Prida
Prathumrat, daughter of Maria Phayong Prathumrat has been selected
the 'grateful child' at the diocesan level of Chanthaburi. |

4. The Immaculate
Conception Cathedral organized the celebration of the Elderly
Day on 16 April 2549 starting with the Eucharistic celebration
followed by: |

elderly (in token of blessing) and giving presents to the elderly. |

Competition of 'Miss
Songkran' (competitors must be over 60 years old). |
