| Suratthani Diocese organizes a day of elderly gathering | |
| The Church of Our Lady of Fatima, Baan Saengarun, Prachuabkirikhan, led by Rev. Sakchai Triwaudom, organizes the first "Day of the Elderly Gathering" with 85 elderly participating in the event. | |
| The objective of this event is: | |
| 1 | To allow the elderly to meet with one another |
| 2 | To let the elderly feel that they are neither forgotten nor rejected |
| 3 | To promote the spiritual well-being of the elderly, and |
| 4 | To tighten closer relationship between the elderly and their offspring. |
| The activity of the day starts with the Eucharistic celebration presided over by Rev. Samakkhee Chairakhun followed by free medical check-up from Thabsakae Hospital, followed by physical exercises. The day is closed with a luncheon together. | |
| Mr. Padung Jiamsawat, president of the Sura tthani elderly group, said that the Fatima Elderly Group has a project of a bi-monthly meeting together so that they will have a joint activity together. Besides, the O. Lady of Fatima Church has hosted the "Day of the Elderly Gathering" at the Diocesan level on 24-25 November 2007 as well. | |
