Before the
end of the congress a declaration has been drafted out by the participants
with the following words: |
"We,
the people of God in Asia, brought together as one family in Human
Life International, in fidelity to its mission of bring the Gospel
of Life to the nations through here in the international congress
as one family, faithful to the mission of bringing Good News to the
nations through teaching, training, preaching, prayers, spiritual
welfare and public witness, hereby affirm these principles and resolve
to defend them: |
1 |
Human life and the dignity
of every person is beyond the commerce of man. We pledge to defend
the natural, inherent and inviolable right to life in all its seasons
from conception to its natural end. |
2 |
Abortion
intentionally done is not only a violation of the right to life, but
also a crime against humanity. It must be condemned unflinchingly.
|
3 |
Parents
have the natural and God-given right and duty to bring up their children
in morality founded on Christian principles. Giving Children an adequate
preparation for adult life demands education in the Christian meaning
of sexuality and the sanctity of human life. |
4 |
The pillar
of society have a duty to reassure and safeguard the values and culture
of its people. We shall confront trends and forces that seek to transform
a people's values, culture and moral heritage. |
5 |
It is in
the nature of a human person to seek God. The inherent human right
to profess one's faith and to exercise the rights of good conscience
must be defended. |
6 |
Motherhood
as a sincere gift of self is a noble calling. We shall foster a culture
that values and respects women, the dignity of motherhood, and the
invaluable role of fatherhood in raising and nurturing a strong family. |
In solidarity
with our sisters and brothers of other faiths and together with
national leaders and all sectors in our communities and countries,
we renew our pledge to build and foster a Culture of Life in Asia,
so that families can fulfill their noble purpose as the sanctuaries
of life and engines of authentic development for the human person. |
